My story…

I grew up with my two brothers out in the wilderness of Montana. When we got older, their shenanigans got crazier (too crazy for me to participate), but I figured out if I took pictures of them hitting our homemade backyard jumps with the half-running 4wheeler, I still got to be included and BAM, that’s where my love of photography sparked. From there, it was a never-ending exploration of the magic of photographs.

My younger brother, Daniel (pictured above), now joins me behind the camera to second-shoot at some of the weddings I shoot during the year. We are a really tight-knit family, so I LOVE getting to work with my brother. Daniel is the best second shooter I’ve ever had. He’s helpful, quick, asks what I need, and best of all, he makes me laugh like no other. (We have a million jokes that aren’t funny but there we are, rolling on the floor crying from laughing so hard) He’s always open to criticism, heated debates, and nonsensical theories about the universe.

Recently married my best friend, Josh, who is a second-generation logger and the hardest-working guy I know. (October 2021) We love building, gardening, and generally doing everything we can together.
On September 13th, 2022, we added our first baby to our family, and we couldn’t be more in love!

I am an introvert, Type 9, or INFP. Just in case you are like me and love those personality tests. If you aren’t familiar, I am a ‘peacemaker’, always saying, “Why not both?” and diffusing family fights. My arms are always open for hugs which I smother everyone I love with. My other favorite way to show love is through cooking. My never-ending goal is to fill bellies with food and hearts with love.

If you couldn’t tell, love is at the core of everything I do. It’s the biggest and most powerful reason I pursue photography. Capturing the things we love, so we can hold onto them forever, safe and sound, in a picture that can last lifetimes.

It’s hard to fit everything about a person into something short and readable but this just gives us (whoever you may be) a better opportunity to discover those things about each other when we meet (and I sure hope we do!)

Mastin Labs Lightroom Presets - I use these to edit all my photos. They have wonderful tones and colors and always turn out beautiful.
